Media advisor Charles
Barrett formed The Barrett Company in 1991 as a full
service public relations and marketing communications agency.
The Los Angeles headquartered firm offers integrated media marketing
and marketing research expertise, with an emphasis on public relations,
for the entertainment and leisure time/travel industries -- serving
celebrities, motion pictures, television, radio, new media, authors,
hotels and tourism. Since our creation, we have served such companies
as Warner Brothers to American Movie Classics cable channel, celebrities
such as Johnny Carson to the Internet studio Z.com (David Spade,
Alanis Morrisette), and Hilton Hotels to Paramount Pictures.
Mr. Barrett formed the firm after serving
in top public relations positions with the National Broadcasting
Company (NBC) for more than ten years, where he was in charge
of media relations for The Tonight Show and Today,
among other well-known NBC shows such as Unsolved Mysteries,
Fame, and numerous highly-rated NBC specials including
The American Film Institute Lifetime Achievement Awards,
and The American Movie Awards. Earlier, he held executive
media relations posts with both 20th Century Fox Film Corporation
in New York and Capitol Records in Hollywood, New York and London,
where he helped shape successful media campaigns for an array
of musical performers.
Charles Barrett began his media career
as a reporter with The Associated Press, and later served on the
editorial staffs of both The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard.

films such as Warners' City of Angels with Meg Ryan, and
for MGM's blockbuster film, Tomorrow Never Dies with Pierce
Brosnan. In addition, we introduced the world media to the inaugural
Beverly Hills Film Festival held in April 2001 with director/author

film marketing professional Jerry Pam,
who continues his long-term relationship with Miramax Films. Mr.
Pam's accomplished film marketing career ranges from his days
with The Beatles on their hit films, A Hard Day's Night
and Help, to most recently, such successes as Chocolat,
Cinema Paridiso, Cider House Rules, the Oscar®
winner Shakespeare in Love and Good Will Hunting,
among many other pictures. He also created campaigns for Apocalypse
Now, Last Tango in Paris, American Graffiti,
The Conversation, and Midnight Express.
Jerry has represented numerous screen and
television personalities, including Michael Caine, Roger Moore,
Jaclyn Smith, and Robert Stack, as well as well-known writers
like Sidney Sheldon, Jackie Collins, Judith Krantz, and Morris
West. His corporate clients have ranged from Rolls Royce to Mouton
Cadet wines, and Faberge to General Mills.
Our work in book publishing includes the
media marketing campaign for film producer/agent Marty Jurow (Breakfast
At Tiffany's, The Pink Panther, and Terms of Endearment)
and his tales of Hollywood's Golden Age -- Marty Jurow Seein'
Stars: A Show Biz Odyssey, a hardbound work published by Southern
Methodist University Press. In his book, Mr. Jurow tells riveting
vignettes and stories about Jack Lemmon, Karl Malden, Frank Sinatra,
Ava Gardiner, Audrey Hepburn, Marlon Brando, author Truman Capote,
Katharine Hepburn, Elvis Presley and Gary Cooper, among others.
A key professional on The Barrett Company
team is John Michaeli, who
offers international and domestic public relations/communications
expertise with a proven track record of developing, implementing
and directing strategic marketing campaigns. Mr. Michaeli formerly
served as head of global communications for Open TV, the world's
leading interactive and media solutions company. Open TV builds
a complete software and infrastructure platform that enables digital
television and brings on-demand content to other digital communications
devices.
In addition, he has held senior management
posts with agencies and companies in the entertainment, technology,
new media, network TV and public relations industries, including
Walt Disney Studios, Fox Family Channel, Warner Brothers, Pax
TV and Hanna-Barbera, the renowned animation studio in Hollywood.
Our notable TBC television projects include
campaigns for reality based TV productions such as NBC's Unsolved
Mysteries to Paramount TV's Wild Things to Fox TV's
Cops and the long-running syndicated series, Star Search
-- that resulted in across-the-board media attention and awareness
in a wide range of outlets from USA Today to the New York Times
as well as The Wall Street Journal, Daily Variety, The Hollywood
Reporter, Multi Channel News, Entertainment Tonight, Access
Hollywood, E! TV, Today, Good Morning America and
The Tonight Show. Our work with Director/DP Jonathan West
of the hit CBS series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation produced
stories in several magazines. Our client, producer Bert van Munster,

In the technology and new media area --
while working with film producer Jerry Bruckheimer (Pearl Harbor)
and his Internet studio, Z.com, TBC created and accomplished global
media attention for the online cyber reality hit -- Dare For
Dollars.com, as well as Z.com cyber marketing promotions for
both comic/actor David Spade and singer Alanis Morrisette. USA
Today developed a major story for our client Auctionfun.com that
held an on line auction of noted Hollywood memorabilia, including
Judy Garland's shoes from The Wizard of Oz. Media attention
for Open TV was also accomplished in a wide spectrum of trade
and consumer media outlets.
Among the hotel and travel industry clients
we have served are Hilton Hotels and Walt Disney World in Florida.
Via our TBC "Getaways" on line travel newsletter we
have spurred media coverage for such hotels as Santa Barbara's
renowned El Encanto to Vermont's Old Tavern Inn and Westin's Mission
Hills in Rancho Mirage, CA., as well as Paris' George V and London's
Halcyon. Representing The Barrett Company in New York is Ward
Morehouse III. Mr. Morehouse is a media professional
with more than 20 years of experience, including work with NBC,
and having served as vice president of New York PR firm Jack Raymond
& Company. Ward is the author of two travel-oriented books,
The Waldorf Astoria: America's Gilded Dream, and The
Plaza: An Intimate Portrait of the Ultimate Hotel. He also
served as The New York Post's chief Broadway columnist and worked
as a journalist with Reuters.
Don Graham
is a consummate professional in the marketing of Jazz and Adult
Standard recorded music. He has created and directed award winning
marketing campaigns for such well-known artists as Diana Krall,
Andrea Bocelli, Joni Mitchell, The Irish Tenors and actor/singer
James Darren, to name but a few. Companies served include Concord,
Atlantic and Warner Brothers Records. Artist media marketing via
designated radio guestings, retail contests, and tour support
are Don's specialty. Previously, he served as Vice President of
Promotion for both United Artists and A&M Records.
Barbara Wall
heads up The Barrett Company's Marketing Research services. She
has accomplished extensive research assignments for both consumer
and B2B companies, ranging from technology to entertainment to
services. Ms. Wall formerly served as a Senior Director at Lieberman
Research Worldwide, Manager of Marketing Research Services for
Xerox Corporation's Printing Systems Division, as well as Marketing
Manager at TRW Information Services (Experian) and Market Analyst
at Computer Sciences Corporation. She has designed and executed
qualitative and quantitative research, covering such areas as
customer satisfaction and loyalty, consumer attitudes and usage,
advertising tracking, segmentation and profiling, as well as product/concept
testing, demand and forecasting. At Lieberman Research, Ms. Wall
managed projects for clients such as BMG Music Service, The Fox
Network, Eddie Bauer, Levi's, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, Virgin and
Cooking.com.
